A Message from the Cal Alumni Pride Board

Dear Cal Alumni Pride Member:

Thanks to all who joined us at our SF Pride booth, the members and friends who attended the wine reception at the GLBT Historical Society - where we raised over $400 - and the LGBT Pride Month Mixer at Infusion Lounge. Pictures are now posted on our website – please check them out.

The newly constituted board of Cal Alumni Pride is celebrating its one year anniversary this month and we’d like to thank everyone for their support. You are cordially invited to celebrate with us at our July 20th happy hour at Cal alumnus James Schenk’s Pisco Lounge. In the last year, we’ve developed a new website, membership has grown from a few dozen to nearly 400, we’ve hosted eight successful events and have revamped our scholarship program which is now available online. We look forward to seeing you at our next event and please don’t hesitate to send us your feedback and suggestions to info@calalumnipride.org.

We hope you had a happy Pride Month and look forward to seeing you at Pisco Lounge on July 20th.

Go Bears!

Alumni Spotlight - Roberta Achtenberg

She’s been called a “damn lesbian” and “intolerant radical” by United States Senator Jesse Helms and is a true pioneer in the gay rights movement. We’re proud to call her an alumna of UC Berkeley and a member of UC GALA (our former name) since the organization was founded in 1987.
